VERA: Well, it's hard to say why we made Transfun.The title was suggested by one of my netfriends, and it was translated at the beginning as 译趣, which remains so at some of our friends's sites, for example UncleYeti's. I was hopelessly fanscinated by webpage designing and BBS installation at that time when one day Sarah suggested our making use of what I had accomplished in the name of translation. It was then that we changed 译趣 to 译坊, to add to it a touch of artistic aroma. We decided that I would be in charge of the form and Sarah the content. The 1stEdition of 译坊 misled people to think us as a company. Some of my colleagues and friends joined us, but none of them are very keen even on visiting the site, as they all have busy happy mundane life to attend to. Some strangers applied to join us. However, we are not very keen to develop the site into a real organization. Therefore most of the time it remains a site of two, except that some netfriends, for example Reader and 网荡, occasionally lend us a hand at the forum. Sarah and I used to be idling on various forums, some of which we call our 'cyber-home's, but none of them are quite ideal. Maybe that is part of the reason why we set up Transfun. We simply need a place to entertain ourselves, our friends in reality, and strangers who feel themselves kindred to us in the cyber world. I'm not sure whether Sarah will agree with me on this, as we seldom agree. Let's wait what she will say.

SARAH: We never agree but we are still good friends - God only knows why. We must have something in common but what is that? Sarah should be ashamed that she has been too attentive to her miserable "mundane life" since the setup of this website. She probably changed 10 jobs and created 5 stupid personal websites of her own. Now she finally settled down with one job and this one particular web 'Transfun'. Well, before I get too personal, let’s get back to business, if any. Thanks to Vera’s great efforts and persistence over the last year, Transfun is still here, weathering the changes of skins several times, the change of forms several times, and the change of contents several times. But, the most important is that it is still there, witnessing and carrying our dreams – our dreams vary too, constantly. We thought we are heading nowhere, but the truth is that we are heading for some directions, no matter where it is. And we have fun on the road. We might Transform everything into Fun. Who said that what really counts is the process, not the outcome? He’s so damn right.
